Visual playground - Kišobrans VJ Workshop

With the performance at the first evening of the Share Conference in CC Grad, the first cycle of Visual Playground, Kišobran's VJ workshop, has been drawn to the end. During eight classes, the students have worked on their videos, prepared their set and practiced the live performance in order to present their work at one of the most important parties this month. Good feedback they've got has boosted their enthusiasm for forthcoming performances!

The second cycle of the workshop starts on the 7th of May at 19h on Grad's top floor. The free entry lecture will be given and everyone is invited to come and check out what's VJ-ing actually all about. It is also a deadline for new applications, which can be sent to: video@kisobran.org. The group can apply as well, but not larger than three.

Starting from this month both levels will go in parallel - basic and advanced.

In the basic level the students will attend the series of eight lectures (two times per week) followed by practicing of the freshly achieved knowledge. The fundamental VJ software tools will be covered, as well as the technical characteristics of the video equipment. After the final, eighth lecture all the students will get the chance to perform live during an evening event.
The advanced level is actually a consulting series and the preparation of common, complicated video installments, making and processing of the video material for performances, etc. In order to go advanced the student needs the knowledge of the basic level.

The workshop is run by Kišobran VJ team, which has performed in all important Belgrade alternative clubs in the last two years. They were at the Exit Festival's main stage, as well as at the Share Conference. The main lecturer is Goran Balaban, VJ pioneer in the region, reputable designer and visual artist.

Workshop will not be larger than four groups, counting two to three people. A month (eight lectures) of the workshop is 2.500 dinars per person. Students need to have their own laptops, Benq provides us with the projectors and Kišobran will get all the additional equipment. If the group applies, one laptop per group is enough.
